A few weeks ago, we hosted a Parent Orientation Session (POP) for the parents of our 5th graders studying in 5 Government-aided schools across three districts of Kerala who have been diligently attending our abacus classes for the past three months. 

During this engaging session, we taught them the basics of using the abacus tool, empowering parents to actively participate in their child’s home practice. It was not just informative; it was a fun-filled learning experience!

We also delved into the power of the teacher-child-parent trio, discussing how collaboration can significantly enhance the learning journey. Practical tips, do’s and don’ts were shared to make the learning process seamless.

The session’s highlight was when we asked parents one crucial question: “What changes have you noticed in your child after attending Value Education Trust’s abacus classes?” The responses were heart-warming and inspiring! Here are some highlights:

“My child now has a genuine interest in learning.”

“Improved concentration, independent homework at a fixed time.”

“Enthusiastically attends class and practices abacus regularly.”

“Notable improvement in academic performance and positive character change.”

“Wakes up early for abacus practice and showcases a positive study pattern.”
